HOUSTON, TX -
Barrios Technology recently accepted a Supplier Certificate of Appreciation from United Space Alliance (USA) for supporting NASA’s human Space flight program. During the award ceremony, USA representatives gave motivational presentations on the Space Shuttle, International Space Station, and Constellation programs as well as an overview of their approach to Process Control. Dan Brandenstein, USA’s Chief Operating Officer and former astronaut, described some of his personal experiences onboard the Space Shuttle.

The USA Supplier Certificate of Appreciation is presented to approximately forty suppliers per calendar year who have delivered hardware or services to United Space Alliance in accordance with, or exceeding, the requirements of the USA Procurement Purchase Order. The magnitude of these visits and presentations of the Certificate of Appreciation can be measured by the fact that in calendar year 2008, USA had over 2,000 active suppliers working as partners in the Space Shuttle Program. Nominations for the Certificate are made by USA Logistics and Material, USA Safety, Quality & Mission Assurance, and the SRB Program Office.

Representing USA in their visit to Barrios were Dan Brandenstein - USA COO, Mark White - Director of Procurement & Subcontracts, Shelley Mendoza - Director of Risk Management, and Gary Henderson - Supplier Relations. Accepting on behalf of Barrios were Sandy Johnson - Barrios President and Keith Carley - Barrios Director, Engineering and Operations.

Sandy Johnson stated, "Barrios Technology values our relationship with USA, that began 20 years ago, and appreciates the recognition of the quality of our support to USA’s Flight Operations organization."
