BARRIOS EMPLOYEE RECEIVES NASA’S SILVER SNOOPY AWARD

Houston, Tx -
Barrios employee Bob Behrendsen was recently honored with NASA’s prestigious Silver Snoopy, in recognition of his support of NASA’s Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs at Johnson Space Center.

Astronaut John Phillips presented the award, which is known by its identifying character from the Charles Schulz comic strip. The Silver Snoopy Award is the astronaut’s personal award for safety and is presented to less than one percent of NASA and contractor employees for their professionalism, dedication and outstanding support that greatly enhances flight safety and mission success during the Space Shuttle program.

Behrendsen was recognized for his experience and dedication as a member of the Crew Systems team and in particular his efforts with mission success related to the Shuttle Mission STS-119 in March of 2009. Behrendsen’s work with training the STS-119 astronaut crew on important stowage, waste and hygiene, and the operation of essential onboard equipment greatly contributed to the success of the mission.
