BARRIOS EMPLOYEE RECOGNIZED AS A SFA LAUNCH HONOREE
Houston, Tx -
Maryland native and Barrios employee John Mularski was recently honored as a Space Flight Awareness (SFA) honoree for his work in support of NASA’s Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs at Johnson Space Center.
A University of Maryland graduate, Mularski serves as an Extravehicular Activities (EVA) Task Instructor and Flight Controller. He was recognized for his efforts in developing procedures and timelines that the STS-131 crew will use to perform their spacewalks in while in orbit. STS-131 is currently schedule to launch from Kennedy Space Center in March 2010.
As an SFA honoree, Mularski traveled to Kennedy Space Center where he received a tour of the complex and viewed the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis on November 16.
The SFA Program is a NASA managed motivational program geared at ensuring that every employee involved in human space flight is aware of the importance of their role in promoting astronaut safety and mission success in the critical, challenging task of flying humans in space by communicating and educating the government and industry workforce about human space flight.
