BARRIOS EMPLOYEES RECOGNIZED FOR SHUTTLE MISSION SUPPORT

Barrios Technology employee Jerry Yencharis along with other members of the Rendezvous Team were selected to hang the Space Shuttle STS-128 Mission plaque in Johnson Space Center’s Mission Control Center. The plaque hanging traditional occurs after each Space Shuttle flight. The Flight Director selects the flight control discipline whose efforts contribute greatest to the safety and success of that mission.
The Team, led by Yencharis, was honored following the flight for its excellent support during pre-flight training, evaluation of rendezvous and undocking with the loss of Vernier jet capability, and providing the Mission Management Team and engineering team critical analysis, all of which contributed to successful completion of all mission objectives.
Members of the Rendezvous Team were also recognized for their outstanding efforts with the JSC Group Achievement award which was presented at the STS-128/17A Space Center Houston Crew Debrief: Awards presented at the public crew debriefs are selected solely by that mission’s astronaut crew and are in recognition of work performed that directly contributed to the success of the mission.
