BARRIOS RECEIVES TWO JSC CONTRACTOR SAFETY AWARDS

Barrios Technology was presented the 2009 NOVA award at this year’s Johnson Space Center Contractor (JSC) Safety Forum (CSF). This is the fourth consecutive year that Barrios has been recognized by the forum for a continual improvement in the area of safety reporting.
The JSC CSF safety excellence award was created to recognize contractor organizations that demonstrate excellence in safety and health and significant participation in JSC safety and health activities. The CSF scores each company’s application for the year and recognizes the top contractors.
Barrios received recognition for their safety efforts on the International Space Station Mission Integration Contract in 2006, 2007, and 2008 as well as on the Orion Program Integration Contract in 2008. This year marks the first time Barrios was awarded the NOVA at a corporate level.
Barrios also received an honorable mention for JSC’s 2009 Safety and Health Innovation Award for the company’s “BarriosCares” emergency response system. This is the first year for this category which was created to recognize safety and health innovation initiatives.
