Houston, Tx -
Barrios Technology’s Allan Plumb was recently honored as a Space Flight Awareness (SFA) honoree for his work in support of NASA’s Space Shuttle and International Space Station (ISS) programs at Johnson Space Center.
Plumb, a 25 year veteran of the space program received his degree from University of California Berkeley and currently serves as principal systems analyst supporting the Space Station Mission Integration Contract. Among the many achievements he was recognized for, one notable is his support in developing a key application used across the NASA organization. MIDAS, or Mission Integration Database Application Systems, is a large web-base database that provides integrated, configuration managed data accessible to thousands of ISS data customers around the world.
As an SFA honoree, Plumb traveled to Kennedy Space Center where he received a tour of the complex and viewed the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis on May 14.
The SFA Program is a NASA managed motivational program geared at ensuring that employees involved in human space flight are aware of the importance of their role in promoting astronaut safety and mission success in the critical, challenging task of flying humans in space by communicating and educating the government and industry workforce about human space flight.
