Our History
Space operations have been an integral part of the Barrios tradition of excellence since the beginning of the company. Founded in 1980 by Emyre "Emy" Barrios Robinson, our initial contract was to train and manage flight design and mission integration specialists for the Space Shuttle Program. Starting with only 15 employees, the company prospered, grew, and underwent management changes. In July 1993, Sandra G. (Sandy) Johnson, one of the original founders of Barrios Technology, purchased majority interest in the company. Since that time Barrios has been awarded a series of prime contracts supporting Johnson Space Center, NASA Headquarters, and the Department of Defense. Our services have expanded to include Aerospace Engineering & Science, Program Planning & Control, Mission Integration & Operations, and Software Engineering & Integration.
Barrios has a long standing subcontractor relationship with other major aerospace contractors including Alliant Techsystems, Inc. (ATK), The Boeing Company, Jacobs Technology, Lockheed Martin, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Teledyne Brown Engineering, United Space Alliance and Wyle Integrated Science and Engineering.
Our outstanding growth is directly attributable to a unique culture that embodies responsive, team-oriented employee attitudes and rewards innovative thinking. Our family-oriented culture continues to attract the best and the brightest individuals in the industry. Barrios leverages its core values to continue to enhance its products and services focusing on the latest technology.
