Advancing Mission Success: Barrios’ 2024 Q4 Silver BEAR Award Winners Honored
Barrios Technology is committed to continuously improving processes and driving efficiency to support and advance our customers’ mission success. For the 2025 4th Quarter Silver BEAR Awards, we proudly recognize Betty Amos, Jason Magdos, Erin Pillow, Esteban Rios, Zach Roberts, Chris Stauffer, Shellye Sullivan, Allyson Warren, and Mitch Youts. Through their leadership, dedication, and technical excellence, they have made a meaningful and lasting impact on both our customers and our teams.

Betty Amos, Project Coordinator for the HEDO Office on our Consolidated Program Support Services (CPSS) Project Coordination (PC) contract, has consistently exceeded expectations through outstanding teamwork, leadership, and dedication to the success of the ECLSS Logistics/Spares Project at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama. Widely recognized by her customers, she goes above and beyond in her role and has become a trusted subject matter expert in the ECLSS ORU logistics process through her proactive and reliable contributions.

Jason Magdos, Increment Research Lead, and Chris Stauffer, Increment Engineer on our Human Space Flight Technical Integration Contract (HSFTIC) have demonstrated exceptional leadership, collaboration, and innovation while leading the International Space Station (ISS) Increment Research Lead (IRL)-Increment Deputy Manager (IDM) Tiger Team. They implemented a new role by streamlining responsibilities for greater efficiency and cost savings. The new role was successfully pilot tested during Increment 72 between Jan-March 2025.

As a key member of the Gateway Configuration and Data Management (CDM) team on HSFTIC, Erin Pillow, Configuration Data Management Specialist, has led the successful implementation and improvement of critical CM processes and tools. Known for her expertise, professionalism, and dedication, she is the go-to resource for all CM matters across the Program. Erin consistently delivers high-quality results, supports multiple projects, and ensures CDM processes and training materials are clearly defined and widely accessible.

Esteban Rios, Systems Engineer on HSFTIC, has shown exceptional leadership, professionalism, and initiative in his role as ISS Stowage Mission Resource Manager. Esteban introduced improvements to stowage operations to address onboard accumulation risks. In just over a year, he mastered complex processes, fostered innovation and collaboration, and ensured operational excellence and crew well-being aboard the International Space Station.

With remarkable organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and a customer-focused approach, Zach Roberts, IT Specialist on the Johnson Space Center (JSC) Engineering Technology and Sciences (JETS II) contract, consistently exceeds expectations and sets a high standard of excellence. As Project Manager for the NASA Agency-mandated Windows 11 upgrade across 105 specialized ARES lab stations, he has successfully navigated complex technical and logistical challenges. His leadership, proactive problem-solving, and ability to balance priorities have made him an invaluable asset to the organization.

Known for her expertise and professionalism, Shellye Sullivan, Configuration Data Management Specialist on HSFTIC, provides incredible support to the Gateway Program Control Board (GPCB), consistently delivering high-quality products that have earned Program-wide recognition. Shellye has been instrumental in improving CM processes and tools, and is the trusted point of contact for all matters related to the GPCB and Augmented Boards.

Allyson Warren, Software Developer for Corporate, has excelled – going above and beyond to deliver impactful automation solutions. She has introduced innovative methodologies, led API integration efforts, and mentored fellow developers. Her collaborations have replaced manual tasks with efficient tools, saving significant time. Allyson consistently tackles complex front- and back-end challenges, delivering reliable, scalable solutions that advance our technology capabilities.

Demonstrating outstanding technical skill and a strong commitment to customer success, Mitch Youts, Graphics Specialist on the Mission Enabling Services Contract (MESC), consistently brings exceptional value to Barrios. Beyond his post-flight video editing work, he has contributed to high-profile projects such as Once Upon a Time in Space, Smarter Every Day astronaut interviews, and the Elephants IMAX documentary. His dedication was recently recognized with the Imagery Excellence Team Award for work at the Expedition 71 Welcome Home Ceremony.
