ANITA F. RENTERIA
CHIEF GROWTH OFFICER
As Chief Growth Officer (CGO), Anita Renteria focuses on strategic growth for Barrios.
She interfaces with our executive team to strategize, track, target, and grow business through pursuing government, commercial and international aerospace contracts, leveraging the growth potential of our current base.
Additionally, her role includes fostering current and non-traditional partnerships and expansion, and optimizing resources to ensure we meet our customers’ demand for services.
CAREER & EXPERIENCE
Anita has been with Barrios since joining the company in 2004, starting as Business Development Manager, then Director of Business Development. Anita was appointed Vice President of Business Development, responsible for developing and executing Barrios’ strategy for business capture, including marketing and communications, teaming, proposal development, and market growth before assuming her current role of CGO in 2022.
During this time Anita represented Barrios as a founding member of the Johnson Space Center Small Business Council’s (JSC SBC) Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and served as Vice Chair and Chair. Barrios remains active in the JSC SBC ELT as well as the Marshall Small Business Alliance (MSBA) Small Business Executive Leadership Team (SBELT) in Huntsville, AL. She has represented Barrios at Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Small Business events for the NASA Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP).
A PASSION FOR...THE SPACE BUSINESS
Before joining Barrios, Anita had gained extensive experience in sales, marketing, and business development in the aerospace industry. She managed NASA and Fortune 500 accounts for Digital Equipment Corporation (marketing computer systems and services), Lockheed Martin Space Operations, Universal Space Network (partially owned by the Swedish Space Corporation), and Canadian-owned MacDonald Dettwiler Space Robotics.
EDUCATION
Anita holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from Texas A&M University. Her professional training includes technical sales, Capture Management, Proposal Development and Evaluation, and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
